Professor Sara Sun Beale

Prof. Sara Sun Beale joined the faculty of  Duke University School of Law in 1979 and became Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in 1997. 

Prior to this, she was an assistant to the Solicitor General, Department of Justice from 1977 to 1979. 

From 1976 to 1977, she was an Attorney-Advisor for the Office of Legal Counsel with the United States Department of Justice. 

She also served as a Law Clerk with the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. 

She was Note Editor with the Michigan Law Review. 

She holds a BA and a JD from the University of Michigan and was called to the Michigan Bar in 1974
