The Right Honourable Colin Boyd, the Lord Advocate, was called to the Scottish Bar in 1983. Mr. Boyd was an Advocate Depute from 1993 to 1995 and took Silk in 1995. He was appointed Solicitor General for Scotland on 6 May 1997 and appointed Lord Advocate on 23 March 2000 in succession to The Rt. Hon. the Lord Hardie.
