Prof. Dr.  h.c. Albin Eser, M.C.J. is the Director of the Max-Planck-Institute for Foreign and International Penal Law at Freiburg, Germany. 

He was a professor of Law and Procedure, Comparative and International Criminal Law at University of Bielefeld in 1970, Tubingen in 1974 and since 1982, at the University of Freiburg. 

He was a part-time Judge at the Upper State Court from 1971 to 1974 at Westphalia and from 1974 to 1988 at Stuttgart, Wuerttemberg.

He is a member of the Society Executive Committee and the Editorial board of the Criminal Law Forum, the Society's journal.
