Ronald L. Gainer is a consulting attorney providing legal and policy advice with regard to national and international criminal justice problems, particularly with transnational fraud or corruption.

He was previously the founding partner of a Washington, DC, law firm specializing in assisting governmental and corporate clients in preventing and resolving criminal justice problems in commercial activities.

He is a former Associate Deputy Attorney-General and a former Director of Policy and Planning at the U.S. Department of Justice where he supervised the Department's fifteen-year effort to develop a new Federal Criminal Code.

He is a also a former member of the United Nations Crime Committee and a former ex-officio member of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.

Mr. Gainer holds a B.A. from Michigan State University, 1956, and a J.D. from University of Michigan, 1959. He was called to the New York Bar in 1960 and the District of Columbia Bar in 1963.
