Hon. Gregory R. James QC is the President of the New South Wales Mental Health Review Tribunal.

He is a retired judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, appointed in 1998, and a judge of a former Royal Commission in South Australia.

Prior to this, he had served as Vice-President of the Australia Criminal Law Association for several years. He is a commissioner with the New South Wales Law Reform Commission and formerly a consultant to the Australian Law Reform Commission. Formerly he held the position of Associate District Court Judge in New South Wales.

His special interests included criminal appeals and Royal Commissions and Inquiries.
